General News First silverware of the seasonCongratulations to our under-14 footballers, who landed the club's first silverware of the season when they won the Down 'B' Feile on Saturday past.
After coming through their group section the previous weekend, the youngsters saw off the challenge of Ballykinlar in the semi-final before brushing off Saval (a Division I side) in the final. Stephen White was the goal scoring hero in the decider, and there were a number of fine performances from the likes of Daniel McGovern, Ruari Kearney, Rory Keenan and Kealan Haughey. Social Club News ApologiesFolks, on behalf of the Management Cmte I would like to apologise for the mix up last night. The musicians booked to play failed to let us know that they would not be turning up, which left the big crowd somewhat annoyed and yours truly with a very red face. A number of others were called, but due to the very short notice, alternatives were not possible.
Once again apologies, and thanks for coming out. We hope you will give us another chance.... Posted on 18th Apr 06 by SM

Senior Football News Harps draw Loughinisland in the SFCThe draws for the 2006 Down football Championships were made last week, and Ballyholland have been matched with Loughinisland in the first round. It should be an intriguing clash between two sides that swapped divisions at the end of last season.
There is a bit of Championship history between the sides in recent times. Players like Shane Mulholland, Colman Smith and Mattie Shields will remember being taught a lesson by the East Down side back in 1994, in what was the Harps first SFC appearance in nearly two decades.
Many more of the current side were playing by 2000, when Ballyholland reversed tidings with a certain distinction, also in the first round. On a warm evening in Castlewellan, the Harps produced one of the best performances in the club's history in what proved to be something of a demolition job en route to a semi-final appearance that year.
Full SFC draw:
Castlewellan vs Warrenpoint
Clonduff vs Annaclone
Kilcoo vs Downpatrick
Mayobridge vs Longstone
Ballyholland vs Loughinisland
Bryansford vs An Riocht
Shamrocks vs Liatroim
Rostrevor vs Burren
In the Reserve Football Championship, Ballyholland's second string will host the victors of Burren and St John's in the first round proper. Having lifted the RFC title in each of the past two season, Burren would be clear favourites to proceed. Posted on 20th Mar 06 by AMN
