For the first time in a number of years, in 2006 Ballyholland's reserve team showed signs of moving in the right direction. Although no silverware was gained, at times some of the football they played was excellent and with a bit more drive could have seen off eventual winners Mayobridge in the league semi-final. With a number of senior players approaching the end of their careers, the 2007 second string could boast a lot of class and experience, and will be hoping to go at least one better this time around.
