Paddy McAnulty takes top honours
Paddy McAnulty was the big winner at Ballyholland Harps’ dinner dance, held last weekend. Well over one hundred patrons saw the young star deservedly claim both the Sportsman of the Year and Players’ Player of the year honours. Tony Havern also had a great night, picking up the Most Promising Player awards at both senior and minor level, Anton Haughey and Ruairi Matthews each picked up awards for their league-winning exploits at under-18 level, while Paudie McKernan went home with the Reserve Player award under his arm.
As well as exhibiting two trophies from their successful 2006 campaign, the camogs had a number of individual awards to hand out too. Deborah Kelland took Senior Player of the Year, while the Players’ Player was shared between Karen Tinnelly and Sarah McManus. The under-18 award was shared also, between Laura Devine and Ann-Marie O’Hare, and new PRO Kate O’Connor earned the title of Camogie Personality of the Year.
Among the club awards, Philip Murtagh is the newly crowned clubman of the year, Mary Loughran his female equivalent, and Niall Quinn has become the latest entrant in the club’s hall of fame.
